I’m always on the look out for things to keep my kiddo entertained. So I’m excited about Toddlers Big Day Out – a great free event for families and toddlers that’s happening right here in Rangiora later this month.
Event organiser and Rangiora mum, Belinda Topp says “Since having my daughter I noticed there was nothing for toddlers to do in the school holidays”. So she decided to do something about it and at the beginning of November last year started putting together plans for Toddlers Big Day Out.
The event will take place in Victoria Park and Belinda has organised some great stuff for the kids. There’s a children’s pirate band, an ‘awesome’ clown doing magic tricks, bouncy castles, colouring in tents for any older children as well as information stalls from organisations like Plunket and Porse.
Belinda has also tried to keep things free or as low cost as possible for those attending. So there will be no admission fee and no cost for the activities. There will be some small craft stalls and places selling food but these won’t be options that break the bank.
For those feeling peckish Sushi-Ya will be selling cocktail sushi for children whilst the Real Fruit ice cream van will cater for those with a sweet tooth. And, of course, there will be a coffee van for parents. Because parents always need coffee.
This is the first year for Toddlers Big Day Out, but Belinda is hoping she can take it on to become an annual event.
It sounds great, so make sure you head down to Victoria Park on Sunday 26th Jan between 10am and 2pm.
