We’re always being told to shop local and support local businesses.  Well, there’s a a couple of great opportunities coming up to do just that this weekend .

Shop Me Pretty – Saturday 24th May – Ohoka School Hall, Jacksons Road, Ohoka – 2pm to 7pm

This is all about supporting local, handmade and small businesses.  There will be stalls selling all sorts of goodies from soy candles to funky stationery and clothing for both children and adults.    Entry is a gold coin donation and you get a glass of juice or bubbles too.  And take some cash with you to buy lovely things – not all stalls will have EFTPOS.

Fablously Feminine – Sunday 25th May – 2pm to 4pm – Rossburn Reception Rooms, Rangiora – This fundraiser for the Cure Rowing Club in Kaiapoi looks like a lot of fun.  As well as the chance to buy jewellery, clothes, accessories and other lovely stuff, there are raffles and spot prizes.  All whilst you sip your complimentary glass of bubbles.  Sounds like a great way to spend a winter afternoon.

Tickets are $10 each and these include an entry in the raffle as well as a glass of bubbles or juice.
