Well spring is in the air, sort of, so hopefully we might get some good weather for the weekend. Although it’s pouring down as I write this.
But anyway, there’s some fun stuff on this weekend and I’m sure there’ll be at least some sunshine.
Woodend Spring Flower Show – Saturday 4th Oct – 1pm at the Woodend Community Hall. There’s going to be some great flowers on display, but also craft and gardening stalls and Devonshire teas. Apparently this show has been an annual event for 80 years, so it must be worth checking out.
Rangiora Community Market – Sat 4th Oct – 8.30am – 12.30 – This is a monthly event on the first Saturday of the month but I’m wondering if, as the weather improves, it might increas in size slightly. It’s at 353 High St. (St John’s Anglican Church Hall). As well as stalls selling some bargains there’s coffee and snacks available in the little cafe and apparently all proceeds go to community outreach projects. And you never know what you might pick up. My kiddo’s favourite soft toy was a $5 bargain from here.
Rangiora Rotary Book Sale – Sat 4th Oct – 9am to 5pm – Rangiora Borough School Hall, King Street, Rangiora. Like it says…books, books and more books. And they’ve got EFTPOS too…so for the readers among you it could be a good chance to pick up some great books.
Spring into Oxford – Sun 5th Oct – 9am to 1pm at Pearson Park, Oxford – This annual fundraiser for the Oxford Menz Shed will feature a display of classic and vintage cars. There’s also going to be live music, food and craft stalls and a range of entertainment for the kids. Sunday is also farmers’ market day in Oxford so you can check that out too.
