Well it feels like it took it’s time coming this week but it’s the weekend finally! And there’s lots on.
Tonight is Halloween, and if you’re looking for a way to celebrate that won’t scare littlies then try the Waimakariri Light Party at Wylie Park, Smith Street, Kaiapoi. It’s a free, fun event with lots going on – bouncers, water walkers, adrenalin rush, Amac bungee, flywall. gladiator, Pedalmania, music, clowns, a non scary fancy dress competition, etc. From 4.30pm to 7.30pm tonight.
As for the rest of the weekend here’s a few options:
Pegasus Gala Day – Sat 1st Nov from 10am to 3pm – at Pegasus Bay School – Lots of stuff to keep the kids happy here – bouncy castles, obstacle course, cupcake decorating, miniature train. And for the adults there’s coffee, live entertainment and stalls. Free entry.
Kaiapoi North School Fair – Sat 1st Nov from 11am to 3pm – Clowns, face-painting, mini jeeps, train rides plus white elephant, cake stall, coffee for the grown ups. Free entry.
Swannanoa School Plant Sale – Sun 2nd Nov from 10am to 1pm at Swannanoa School on Tram Road – This huge plant sale is a great chance to pick up some bargains. Over 10,000 plants available with everything from buxus to mondo grass, natives to strawberries.
Oxford Garden Fete – Sun 2nd Nov from 10am to 4pm at Ribblesdale Gardens, Barracks Road, Oxford – A chance to check out the 4 acre Ribblesdale Gardens, do some Christmas shopping at boutique stalls and hear special guest, Te Radar, talk about creating your own beautiful garden, followed by a Q & A session. So you can get your gardening questions answered by the man himself. Tickets $15. Children under 12 free.
