Well, hopefully that cold snap is over and we can all get back to spring.  And there’s plenty going on this weekend.

Fireworks at Waikuku Beach Domain, Domain Road – Friday 7th Nov – 7pm – you can take your own fireworks along to this event and sit back whilst the fire brigade light them for you.  A great, safe way to enjoy your fireworks with your community.

Woodend Playcentre Garage Sale – Saturday 8th Nov – 9am to 12 midday – School Road, Woodend (behind the community centre) – A chance to grab a bargain, plus there’s face painting for the kids and a sausage sizzle.

Holistic Health Fair – Sat 8th Nov – 10am to 4pm – Rangiora A&P Showgrounds, Ashley Street – If you’ve ever wondered what chakras are or whether crystals can help with anything – then this might be worth checking out.  There’s everything from reflexology to tarot all under one roof.

Kaiapoi Community  Garden Spring Open Day –  Sun 9th Nov – 10am to 1pm – The community gardens are located on the grounds of Kaiapoi Borough School by the railway line – This could be fun for gardeners – there’s a sale table, cooking demonstrations, a garden art workshop.  And there’s activities for kids – treasure hunts, quizzes and colouring competition.

Kayaking Have A Go Fun Day – Sun 9th Nov – 9.30am – Pegasus Lake – Organised by the Arawa Canoe Club this event offers the chance to have a go at kayaking.  Club members will be there to help out and offer tuition.  So if you’ve always wanted to give it a go, head on down there.
