If you’ve been shopping locally lately, you might have noticed some of the harvest displays in shops that are taking part in the Rangiora Promotions harvest display comp. I was taking a look at some of them today when I was in High Street. Have to say there are one or two that are so low key I didn’t even realise there was a display. Others are a bit more full on. But I guess the harvest displays are a bit of an art so it all depends on your personal taste. One or two really caught my eye.
You can check out all the entries and vote online at the Rangiora Promotions Facebook page. So take a look and get your vote in before Sunday 22nd March.
The Harvest theme continues this weekend in Rangiora with the harvest festival on Saturday. This year it’s going to be in Victoria Park from 10am to 2pm. There are going to be a variety of stalls and fun stuff going on like apple bobbing, sack races and gumboot throwing. The Wee Dram Farm people are going to have some farmyard animals there and will also be doing pony rides. Last time I took my little boy to somewhere they did pony rides, he announced “I hate ponies”. A bit harsh, but if big animals don’t appeal there’s an enclosure with guinea pigs and rabbits run by Peppers Pony Parties.
There’s also going to be a line up of country music with a father/daughter Duo named Fade performing in the band rotunda, along with some talented members of the Rangiora Country Music Club performing some true county music.
