It’s looking like a beautiful morning out there, let’s hope it stays that way.  Here’s a few things to enjoy around the area.

Saturday morning is market time – there’s a garage, car boot sale & market from 8am till 1pm at the Anglican church on High Street in Rangiora.  Over in Kaiapoi they’ve got their regular weekly farmers market from 10 – 12 at Charles Street by the i-site building.

If you haven’t checked out the Town Hall cinema in Rangiora yet, the weekend could be a good time to do so.  They’ve got plenty of movies showing from The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel to Cinderella for the kids.  It’s great to have a local cinema – so get out and support it.

Alternatively, if you like your classical music then there’s a concert at the Chamber Gallery in the Library  – 7.30pm.  Menagerie South comprises three musicians on clarinet, piano and violin.  Tickets $30 from the library, or $10 for students.

Sunday  3rd May is National Alpaca Day – a day for alpacas – who knew?!  If you want to learn about these gorgeous little creatures then there are several open farms in the area.  Check out the Alpaca Association website for details.
