It’s a bit of a quiet weekend out there, but there are a couple of things on…music, cats, markets…take your pick.
Saturday is market day with the usual farmers market down in Kaiapoi 9am to 12 midday on Charles Street. There’s also an indoor market at St Bartholomew’s Church, Cass Street, Kaiapoi which will run from 9.30am till midday. This is a fundraiser for the Anglican Parish of Kaiapoi and stalls will include women’s clothing, jewellery, crafts, books and ‘lots of bargains’.
Sunday sees a free concert Christchurch pianist, Veronica van der Knaap – 2pm at the Chamber Gallery in Rangiora Library.
Music not your thing? Okay, how about cats? The Canterbury All Breed Cat Show is on at the Kaiapoi Club from 9am to 3.30pm. There will be over 100 breeds of cats as well as, according to the info, a ‘cuddle corner’ where kids can pet some of the less temperamental felines.
