Down in Kaiapoi the Great Bear Hunt is still running as part of KidsFest. You download an entry form and then try to spot all the bears hidden in shop windows on the High Street. If you want something a bit more adult orientated then pop in and check out the new art exhibition in Kaiapoi library – it’s the winners of the People’s Choice from the last ten years of Kaiapoi Art Expo.
There’s music on Saturday night with rock covers band Hot TIn Roof at JR’s Bar and Grill on Rangiora High Street, starts 8pm.
A different type of music on offer on Sunday with a free concert at the Rangiora Library – young musician Benedict Lim will be giving a piano recital starting at 2pm.
And, of course, the big event for littlies is on Sunday 19th July – Toddlers’ Big Day In runs from 10.30am to 2.30pm at the New Life School Gymnasium in Rangiora. It’s free entry and the activities are all kept no cost or low cost. So it won’t burn a hole in your wallet. There are bouncy castles, fairies, kids entertainers as well as info on all sorts of things for kids in the area from preschools to toy libraries. This is a fantastic community event so head along and enjoy it.
Also, rumour has it we might be in for a cold snap. If you’re looking for something to do indoors, don’t forget to check out our lovely, local cinema in Rangiora where there are lots of movies showing.
