Santa is popping up in a few places locally, so if your littlies want to see him it shouldn’t be a problem.
This weekend is the last chance to visit the Santa Grotto run by Ashgrove School. It’s open Saturday and Sunday 10 to 12 and 4pm to 8pm at the Rangiora Showground pavillion. Entrance is $3 and it’s extra for photos with Santa. I haven’t been yet this year, but last year was pretty good with a cute winter village and plenty for kids to look at.
This Saturday also sees the Santa Parade and Carnival down in Kaiapoi – 9am to 3pm. Apparently there’s going to be Disney princesses and Star Wars stormtroopers and if you want photos with Santa he’s going to be at Blackwells from 2.30pm.
Next weekend, Sunday 13th is the Rangiora Santa Parade which will also have a Santa – not sure about photo opps at that one. Although they are promising lots of fun in Victoria Park – with pony rides, face painting and lots of stalls. The event runs from 12 midday to 6pm
If you’re the last minute type, then good news, Santa will also be available for photos at Blackwells Dept store down in Kaiapoi on the 16th, 18th, 20th and 22nd of December. The photos are free but check out the Blackwells Facebook page for times.
